Rod Physical Description from the DMG:

Rods weigh approximately 5 pounds. They range from 2 feet to 3 feet long and are usually made of iron or some other metal. (Many, as noted in their descriptions, can function as light maces or clubs due to their sturdy construction.) These sturdy items have AC9, 10 hit points, hardness 10, and a break DC of 27.

If a rod functions as a mace, does it still use the generic rod hit point and hardness, or the mace hit point and hardness? Also, would a rod that functions as a +2 light mace gain the bonus's to hit points and hardness from its +2 enhancement?

Does acid damage bypass it's hardness?

Can a rod that acts as a light mace be repaired, and if so, how much would it cost?

Thanks!

If it functions as a magic weapon I would rule that it has the better of the rod's stats or the magic weapon's stats.

It should DEFINITELY get the bonus from the +2 to everything the +2 normally adds to, including hardness, etc.

Repairing items that have NOT broken (lost all their hitpoints) costs 1/5 the cost to make the non-magical portion of them. The magic enchantment does not get damaged until the item is broken.

Repairing items that have broken costs 1/2 the cost to make it magical. This should include the 1/5 cost above.
