A dancing weapon(+4) is said to use the same BAB as the one weilding it when let loose.

It's also considered weilded by the creature who used it.

If a fighter with 3 attacks per turn lets loose his dancing sword, would it attack 3 times?
Also, could a feat like power attack be used on it?

Thank you very much

Quoting directy from the SRD:

As a standard action, a dancing weapon can be loosed to attack on its own. It fights for 4 rounds using the base attack bonus of the one who loosed it and then drops. While dancing, it cannot make attacks of opportunity, and the person who activated it is not considered armed with the weapon. In all other respects, it is considered wielded or attended by the creature for all maneuvers and effects that target items. While dancing, it takes up the same space as the activating character and can attack adjacent foes (weapons with reach can attack opponents up to 10 feet away). The dancing weapon accompanies the person who activated it everywhere, whether she moves by physical or magical means. If the wielder who loosed it has an unoccupied hand, she can grasp it while it is attacking on its own as a free action; when so retrieved the weapon can’t dance (attack on its own) again for 4 rounds.

A dancing weapon is NOT considered weilded by the person who activated it for all purposes... it's considered weilded only n reference to things which specifically affect the weapon: sunder attempts, attempts to cast spells such as Shatter or Rusting Grasp, etc.. any effect that would be affected by the weilder's abilities(such as using the weilder's Save bonus for certain spells).

It also states that the weapon only attacks at the weilders base attack bonus, and is not weilded by the person who activated it(which means he doesn't incur any two weapon fighting penalties). The weapon doesn't have access, then, to any of the actiavting character's feats.

Though it does specify BAB, depending on your DM it may or may not get Iterative attacks, though I would allow iterative attacks myself. This may have been clarified by another source(FAQ, Sage, Errata, etc), so you may want to investigate these sources as well to see if they have any comment on that feature.
