| EyelessBeholder11-03-06, 11:16 PM | Say i want a Dancing weapon, make it a dwarven war axe? I know id have to make it a +1 and then the dancing modifier would be +4 what is the price for that and where does the value of the price come from? I then know it would be come a +5 weapon does that mean i cant make a +2 any more or does the +4 from the added effect not comply into the limit of +5 If not then when i make it a plus two do i charge for just the cost of +2 ? or what a +6 weapon would cost ? |
| jaelis11-03-06, 11:30 PM | A +1 dancing weapon has a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls, and has the dancing ability. It costs as much as a +5 weapon. A +2 dancing weapon has a +2 bonus to rolls and can dance. It costs as much as +6 weapon. A weapon's enhancement bonus is just the straight plus bonus it gets to attack and damage. Various abilities are priced by making them equivalent to a bonus, but they don't actually give a bonus. So the +1 dancing weapon is still just a +1 weapon, not a +5 weapon. Does that help? |

If you add another enhancement bonus or special ability, you only pay the difference on the chart, not the whole new price again. Turning a +2 weapon into a +3 weapon would cost 10,000 gp, not an additional 18,000 gp. Also, you can have a +1 dancing flaming waraxe if you wished. Just because straight enhancement bonuses are capped at +5 doesn't mean that special abilities are ... you could have a weapon with a +1 enhancement bonus and special abilities worth +9. |
