I have a multi-part question that I need some help with regarding wielding 2 Dancing scimitars.

In a nutshell... with the TWF and Quick Draw feat, is it possible to begin your initiative by activating both Dancing scimitars (a standard action) and have them attack your foe(s), then draw two more scimitars (using the Quick Draw feat) in preparation for the next round where, using the full-attack option, the character would get in 4 attacks for the next, 3 rounds until the Dancing effect is lost?

Second... if the above is legal and the character in question is a 10th lvl Dervish with the "Thousand Cuts" ability (which doubles the # of attacks per round for said character), would that also include the 2 Dancing scimitars (for a total of 8 attacks per round)?

Thanks in advance.

I would say that you could activate one as a standard action. Activating a magic item is either a standard action or no action. I can't find the dancing sword description, but I think to activate you may wave it around (but it could be an utterance activation)... If the swords activated to the same utterance, (in other words they are attuned to each other in their creation), then that would be an exception. Otherwise, I would say that you could activate one in round one (quickdraw other hand), (dancing sword attacks) one in round two (quickdraw other hand), attack with 2 dancing swords and 2 swords in your hands.

Round 1: no attacks
Round 2: 1 Dancing Sword attack
Round 3: 2 Dancing Sword attacks, 2 Melee attacks
Round 4: 2 Dancing Sword attacks, 2 Melee attacks
Round 5: 1 Dancing Sword attack, 2 Melee attacks
Round 6: 2 Melee Attacks...

Of course, this Melee attack is without extra attacks due to higher attack bonuses (at +6/+1 you would recieve 3 melee attacks instead of the 2 I listed) and without extra attacks from feats.

Question 2: I can't find the Thousand Cut description, but I would assume it would only apply to weapons held. So... (again, I am leaving out extra attacks from attack bonus progression and feats)

1: 0 attacks
2: 1 attack
3: 6 attacks
4: 6 attacks
5: 5 attacks
6+ 4 attacks

Again, without referencing the descriptions this would be my ruling, but your DM may have another ruling.

In general, activating a magic weapon is a standard action that can not be combined with activating other magic items.

There is a feat that specifically lets you activate two wands at the cost of extra charges for the 2nd wand.

I could see making a special feat that 1/day lets you activate two different scimitars as a single standard action instead of as two different actions. Pre-reqs would be TWF and ITWF.
