01-18-07, 05:27 PM Did Dastana make it to 3.5 official? Its from arms and equiptment. Dm wont let me use them unless there considered 3.5

Alot of the old books made it to 3.5 with a few changes, i was just wondering about these.

That said, while 3.0 material that hasn't been updated is fair game... I think dastana should be left out to die.

25 gp for +1 AC (arguably enhanceable) was a bad idea in 3.0 and it'd be a bad idea in 3.5.

Your DM is just one of many who are grossly mistaken into believing that if it wasn't updated then its not 3.5 compliant. The opposite is actually WotC's official stance. WotC says themselves that if its not updated, then its 3.5 compliant as-is until it gets updated later, if at all. Unless of course it uses rules that are obviously superseded or no longer in use (such as a PrC with Leap of the Clouds).

Or, if your DM is incapable of listening to reason (a common trait of many DMs, it would seem), Oriental Adventures is 3.5 with the Dragon #318 update, and the dastana are there too.

It should be noted that the item in question didn't change at all.

01-18-07, 08:20 PM The dastana are bracers that gives you +1 armor bonus to ac. It stacks with everything. You can only wear it with padded, leather or chainshirt. It basicly gives +1 ac to everyone who has light armor. Because there is no reason not to have them. They are very cheap too. I dont know if you can enchant them separately to your armor though.

I used to have Dastanas on basicly all my characters. When I rebuilt them for 3,5 my GM banned dastanas. I grumbled a bit but I agree with him.
