If the dragon was to awaken and try to snap the rope, would that only be against the burst DC, or does my use rope skill come into play somehow? |

You get to add your use rope skill check result to the DC to burst a rope. |
| Black Mantha11-13-07, 04:29 AM | You get to add your use rope skill check result to the DC to burst a rope. That... doesn't make any sense. You could get a DC high enough that no dragon could break it. From a single strand of rope! Maybe if you could make multiple loops... Where did you get this rule? All I can find is that the Use Rope check sets the DC for Escape Artist. |

| Radijs11-13-07, 09:15 AM | And for those of us who don't have the RC, where do we look? |
| BW022211-13-07, 09:45 AM | Your rope skill isn't too likely to affect the strength of the rope. If you had a lot of rope your DM might allow you to weave or otherwise 'double-up' lengths of rope to make them thicker and stronger. Say a DC 20 use rope check to double up the thickness of the rope. Say doubles its hit points and increases the break DC by 2. i.e. turn 50 ft. of rope (2hp, DC 23 break) into 25 ft. of rope (4hp, DC 25 break). Make another and you have 12 ft. of rope (8hp, DC 27 break), etc. |
| curtis_ownby11-13-07, 08:31 PM | The RC is taking about if the thing is bound. In other words the rope has been tied around more than once, also you remove leverage the thing has so it can not use its str. to full effect. In the case you are taking about you will be lucky if the dragon even takes note of the rope. |
