Dead-Eye
This ability doubles the threat range of a weapon. Only ranged weapons can be dead-eye. (If you roll this property randomly for an inappropriate weapon, reroll.) This benefit doesn’t stack with any other effect that expands the threat range of a weapon (such as the Improved Critical feat).

Moderate transmutation; CL 10th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, keen edge; Price +1 bonus.

I thought, who wouldn't want a keen longbow, so I made one. Dream weapon: +1 Dead-Eye Seeking Longbow of Flaming Burst. So, is this horrifyingly unbalancing? I increased it to a +2 enhancement for cost, rather than the melee version's +1. Tell me what you think.

I don't see why it shouldn't be a +1 bonus, like keen. I don't think there's any balance issue making it more valuable for ranged weapons.

I see. I was thinking that too, but someone might say something to the effect that having ranged weapons deal criticals from safe distances is more powerful...

Nah it evens out with ranged weapons. Bows with that ability would only have a 19-20 crit rather then the 17-20 that a longsword gets or even the 15-20 from the scimitars.

Even though the multiplier is higher they still won't crit as many times. Other wise I like it. I have some non D20 books that have brought keen and vorpal to the rest of the damage types. Different names somewhat nastier images for them same great affect.

Has anyone watched the anime/movie "Princess Mononoke"? Well, the protagonist has a demon-arm that sometimes goes berserk and he decapitated a guy with a shot from his bow. Also, in Fable, a "full-pull" shot with any ranged weapon, if it's a headshot, tends to decapitate. Talk about ranged vorpal...

I think it's fine. I allow Keen to go on a bow already, despite the nearly nonsensical name.
