Death Ward items? [Archive] - Wizards Community

09-26-06, 03:47 PM I found one armor enchantment which gives a death ward effect to one instance of being hit with negative energy.

Are there other items or item qualities which can give extended versions withouty putting the actually spell into a wand or somesuch?

I'd prefer keeping to WOTC materials please if we can.

09-26-06, 03:50 PM Should be pretty simple to create a wondrous item, or a ring, or a rod... I don't see where the issue is. I don't know of any armor effects, but I know I had a character with a rod of death ward, 3x/day.

09-26-06, 04:29 PM Ah, I see. I assumed "WOTC materials" meant "acceptable under WotC published rules", which I suppose is a bit of a read-in. I've been fortunate enough never to game with any groups that get tetchy when I want to create my own items.

So I'll be no help, then. ;-)

09-26-06, 04:30 PM I think there's something called Soulforged armor that grants protection from energy drain in the Book of Exalted Deeds. Its been a while since I opened up the BOED but my recollection is it protected against energy drain and possibly against death effects.

Death Ward armor/shield special ability - +2, PGtF, automatically protects you for 5 minutes/day.
