cwslyclgh 03-13-07, 01:36 PM	because of the way chain missile works (1d4+1 er 2 caster levels, or 2d4+2 can hit 2 additional targets for 1d4+1 each at minimum caster level), I have always found chain missile to be a sub-optimal wand choice (it gets expensive to make a chain missile wand that does great damage, because you need to inflate the caster level). Don't get me wrong, I love seeing people suggest using chain missile, I think it is a great spell (I might be a bit biased here), just not a wonderful spell for wands.

cwslyclgh 03-13-07, 05:27 PM	it realy depends on what you are looking for, fireball has a better range, and covers more area, but it is generaly harder to place with out hitting allies if there is a melee going on.

That is true plus I could always buy both when i get the money. Now just wondering but if i had a wand of Cure light wounds would that work in a deathwand crossbow ?
