Decanter vs Troll [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-08-06, 11:30 AM I'm not really sure where this question goes. Wiz_O, please feel free to move it to a better spot.

Presuming you've knocked a Troll down into negative HP, would you be able to finish it off by stuffing a decanter of endless water in its mouth and turning it on firehose mode? Do Trolls even drown, and does the item allow this usage?

If you're cheap, trolls can drown in their own blood, too.

12-08-06, 02:10 PM Trolls can take damage from suffocation like any breathing creature, so just dumping the critter into a lake, stream, hell, a bucket face down while it's in the negatives is fine.

Alternately you can choke it. Or, as a barbarian in my party did once, take out his Greataxe, cut the things head and arm off, and stuff the limb down the hole.

Once the troll is helpless, it's much easier to take it out, even without magic.
