FYI, deep crystal is from the Expanded Psionic's Handbook and allows a psionic character to spend 2 power points and make his next attack with a deep crystal weapon deal an extra 2d6 damage. I came up with ki straps/paddings that go on the parts of the body that the monk strikes with - elbows, fists, knees, feet, which means that the monk would have 8 of them. The thing is, a deep crystal weapon costs an extra 1000gp. I'm wondering how I should rule this? Should he simply pay 1000gp and treat it as if it was 1 weapon split into 8 parts? Or should it be 8 separate weapons? |

He could make a guantlet out of it, or add studs to the ki straps. Or you could just make up a new magic item property that does exactly the same thing (since you are the DM). As far as how many he needs: I'd say just one set should cover all of his attacks. The original Ki straps were like that. Besides, why buy 8 sets when you can only use the ability a certain number of times? Just make sure you always make that attack with the body part wrapped in the straps. |
