I tried this out, and it does make the combat scenes much more random and chaotic which realism supporters like. Battles can sweep back and forth more dramatically and the weakest of characters can get in lucky shots while the axe weilding brutes stumble. Only one issue for me: too much rolling. There was just a lot going on already with all the options available in combat. This additional bit just slowed things down too much, at least with the group I was in at the time. Yours might work with it better; it all depends on the people involved. - Mike |
| BoxcarWilly08-28-05, 08:29 PM | yes i have used it... however only in very specific situations. it is a lot of rolling which is bad so if you can minimize this it makes it very fun. i only use it when in 1vs1 battles with a pc vs a npc or something similar to that (1vs2 2vs2 pc vs inteligent creature). works great for arenas or "boss" battles. i even made some feets for it specificly.. such as 1. defense focus (armour or shield type) add +1 to your armour roll. and 2. lucky block which gives defense roll a 20 "critical" where the pc automaticly blocks on a roll of a 20 (this was overiden by a confirmed attack crit). or 3. throw off balance, if your total defense score exedes enemies attack roll by 10 or more you get a +2 bonus on your next attack roll. As you see this may be unbalanced but i still enjoyed using the defense rolls in 1vs1 combat. hope i helped! |
