Defense vs undeads? [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-25-05, 03:40 PM What are some of the best defensive equipments vs undeads? I figured Libris Mortis would have a ton, but they don't really have anything great. Is there a book with a ton of useful protective items vs undeads? I'm afraid of losing levels from energy drains, as well as losing ability scores.

Also, is there a 9th level spell that does the opposite of Energy Drain? As in, instead of helping undeads when cast upon them, it'd hurt them the way that Energy Drain would hurt a living being? Something like this would be great. (I know this isn't a protective measure, but it seems cool)

Your best defense against undead is a cleric with a decent wisdom and charisma.

I just meant that the spell would be able to affect an undead, instead of a living being.

While having a cleric would be great, I'm looking more for items here, as mentioned in the first post.......

Holy Water
Any magic item capable of casting any healing abilities on others.
Any item with a constant Hallow/Circle of protection effect.

Could you throw cure potions at undead to any effect? :thinks:

Wands can only be level 4 spells or lower :p
Seriously though, I'm looking for like armor enhancement that protects vs negative energy all day long, or at least protects it much more than 7 mins (Death Ward from PGtF). Wondrous items, rings, rods, etc would be fine too... anyone...?

You answered your own question. Get a suit of armor enhanced with a constant Death Ward or otherwise similar effect.
