i was thinking if you have deft strike and at least 25 in spot then you could kill a dragon easilly with your sneak attack.

Well, attacking only once every two rounds.

And Dragons have many ways to avoid sneak attacks.

A simple Blur spell would work perfectly.

well deft strike is in draconicon first.

1 attack every two turns is bad and you are not even guranteed to be in position to do sneak attacks. Then you must stay alive which is also hard against a dragon.

And finally when you have 25 ranks in spot you still have to roll high as dragons with CR 20 have ACs in the mid thrities (unmodified)

Quick REconoiter allows spot and listen checks as free actions instead of standard actions. Combine with Deft Strike for a single shot each round...

Actually it's the Deft Opportunist feat that requires a Standard action, not the Spot check included.

DO doesn't state "you can make a Spot check".

It states "As a Standard action, ..."

So:

Round 1: Use standard action for a spot check (with about 50% success chance with dragons)
Round 2: One single attack ignores the armor of the target, the rest of a full attack is resolved normal.
Round 3: See Round 1

Okay, my mistake. what about this, though: Scout and Skirmish ability. Run around while making that standard action, thus getting AC bonus and potentially benefiting from cover. On Round two, move (get AC) and Deft Strike (getting Skirmish damage bonus on top of bypassing DR)...

Seems like the perfect Scout feat to me!

5d6 extra damage in 20 levels?

Nothing to worry about for a Dragon. :)

Yes, it would be good for a scout, would even fit thematically. (Only that you can't run. Running is a full round action, so normal moves have to be enough)

But a scout isn't a combat machine so it isn't a big threat to dragons.. Especially not when the DM enforces the -1 to spot for every 10ft. Dragons normally tend to fly high up making those checks a bit hard.
