| skywyze10-20-04, 09:44 PM | The Templar PrC requires that a player has weapon focus with their deity's favored weapon. When determining if a weapon can be used as a deity's favored weapon, how specific should you be? Ie, will weapon focus (greatsword) work as Kord's favored weapon for the sake of letting a character take the Templar PrC, since it says in Deities and Demigods that Kord's favored weapon is the greatsword? Does it have to be magical? What about weapons of special materials? Enchantments? Example: Dace worships Kord and has Weapon Focus with his Adamantium Keen Greatsword +2. Will his weapon focus with this very specific weapon permit him to select the Templar PrC? Or does he need to stick to a mundane greatsword? If he needs to stick with a regular greatsword, do his bonuses disappear when the blade is enchanted? Thanks in advance for any insights. |

| MetalGemini10-20-04, 10:46 PM | if its a mercurial greatsword then you should be fine. I'm sure making it mercurial won't p*ss off Kord too much. If you really arent sure, ask your DM. |
| DM Zoc10-20-04, 10:55 PM | A mercurial greatsword, which only exists in 3.0, is a different weapon. The same can be said for the composite longbow. In 3.5, the composite longbow is covered under "longbow." Make of this what you will. |

Kord i'm sure would be fine with it, it's your DM that has the last call. there are very specific weapons that can't be substituted without changing/bending a rule. I was fortunate enough to convince my DM at the time that in order to serve Sune as her Divine Champion better against the ugliness that which is evil, a whip wasn't going to protect her temple and her favorite paladin either. It took a lot of planning, roleplaying, and deity specific quests but I got to swap whip for bastard sword (katana). Yeah, I feel special. Another reason, there were no weapon specific abilities in the PrC so it wasn't too farfetched to alter the PrC. After all Sune's paladins are the only ones that are LG the rest of her followers can't be that alignment. |

| DM Zoc10-21-04, 03:30 PM | Wrong. Complete warrior has them. Would you care to quote a page number? I just checked, and it's not in the exotic weapons section. |
