| BenSan12-08-07, 08:28 AM | Okay, I'm trying to figure out how the cost of a poison is determined. Going through the lists I have, it's easy to spot general (and usually obvious) trends - high DC is of course more expensive, CON damage is more expensive than STR/DEX damage, and I suspect a high initial damage is more expensive than a high secondary damage. That said, before I break my head open trying to work out a formula that may or may not exist: are there guidelines anywhere for determining what the price of a poison should be from its stats? |
| RavenDrake12-08-07, 03:39 PM | Unfortunately there hasn't been(to my knowledge) a Dungeons and Dragons supplement with detailed poisoncrafting rules. There WERE rules for poison crafting put out as a web enhancement for D20 Modern(http://www.wizards.com/d20modern/images/D20_mod_enhance.zip, just replace Craft(chemical) with Craft(Alchemy), or Craft(Poisonmaking) if your DM forces you take that totally redundant skill), however there's no price given as d20 Modern works on a Wealth Check system... There should be some conversion rules around that would let you adapt the Purchase DC into GP... |
