| Anssearch08-31-06, 06:58 PM | Hi all, A dex bonus is added to ac. but what about a dex mali? is it absorbed from the ac? What happens, if a character with dex 9 is flat footed? Does he have zero dex (concerning the ac) too? Thanks |
| Bulletproof_Condom08-31-06, 07:35 PM | ...I'm going to assume from context that you meant "penalty" when you said "mali" because "penalty" is actually a word. Your Dexterity modifier is added to your AC whatever it is. If that modifier is greater than +0, your AC would be higher than 10. If it is less than +0, your AC would be less than 10 (assuming no other equipment. A flatfooted character loses his Dex bonus to AC, a bonus being a positive modifier. If you have a Dex penalty, you don't have a Dex bonus to lose, so your AC doesn't change. However, just because being caught flatfooted has no effect on your AC doesn't mean that you aren't subject to the other effects of being flatfooted; i.e. sneak attack. |
| silvergamgee08-31-06, 08:14 PM | Mali, if my memory serves me correctly would have it's root in the word Mal, which would imply a negative (therefore it's use in that way). Take it easy man, not everyone speaks standard English as their first language. The rest holds true though. |
