I believe this goes under this thread because I AM after all fighting a wizard.

It has just been revealed to me that I will have to fight a wizard about my same level, 15, coming up soon. I am CR15: 2nd lvl fighter, 8th lvl Knight of the Crown, 5th lvl Vassal of Bahamut.

I know in character that the wizard has innate teleport. My question is:

Can I somehow get an item with charges of dimensional anchor on it or have it permanency on a weapon, shield, item or whatnot?

Or in addition. Is there anyone out there that can give me some tips on how a to beat a wizard as a melee class?

P.S. He also has an orb that can consume a dragon's breath weapon. I figure this will be useful to me later. Any ideas what it is?

Hmm... there's the Standard of No Retreat(Complete Warrior); it radiates a 30ft area Dimensional Anchor effect(amoung other benefits), but must be attached to two-handed hafted weapon and costs 145,000gp.

I'm sure there are others, but I can't think of a specific one offhand.

For dealing with a spellcaster, make sure to have a ranged weapon handy to deal with flying(or a simple flying magic item). If you can get close, go for the grapple. Sure it might take, what, 20 rounds to D3 him to death with unarmed strike damage, but his chances of breaking the grapple are slim.

Grapple is irrelevant against higher lv casters for 2 key reasons: freedom of movement and stilled teleports/dimension doors.

Can I somehow get an item with charges of dimensional anchor on it- Dimensional Shackles (difficult to use use and expensive)
- Intelligent magic item (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/intelligentItems.htm) with dimensional anchor as a greater power (less expensive, and doesn't even require one of your actions to use, but only 1/day).
