Like the title says, I need to know how much reach a Diminutive creature wielding an appropriately sized whip has.

At least 10', I hope, but I'm not counting on it.

Dimuitive? You mean the size of a mouse or an insect? It will not get 10 foot reach with anything it can carry unless its seriously magically enhanced.

I'd say it would not get any reach worth measuring.

Cute mental image, though.

Hmmm... perhaps I'm going about this the wrong way.

Is there any way for an assassin to get around the standard melee requirement and make a ranged death attack from at least 10' away?

I'm trying to work out a way for a goblin lycanthropic owl assassin with the Runt feat and permanent Reduce Person (diminutive in goblin or hybrid forms, fine in owl form) to make a sniping death attack so as to be immediately out of sight if he somehow misses or the target survives the saving throw.

I think there might be a spell that will allow this.
Yep spell compendium "Snipers eye" a 4th level assasin spell.

Oh sweet, so the 6" assassin could throw a pebble from behind a clump of grass and kill a guy, and be hidden if it doesn't work. Thanks for the tip.

Im not exactly sure what sniper's eye does, but usually you can't sneak attack when you can't reach the vital spots of an enemy. So if you're throwing pebbles I don't know if the sneak attak is allowed.

Improvised thrown weapons have a range increment of 10', max increments for a thrown weapon is 5, so 50'... that's easily enough to reach most things' vitals. And with a 10d12+20 sneak attack it's gonna penetrate regardless of the total lack of base damage.

But if a DM should really want to rain on the parade, I suppose I could always throw blowgun needles like javelins.

When you've made your build can you post it here? I'd love to spring this on my players as a kind of NPC somehow.

Yeah, could take awhile before it's finalized (for one thing I have to get the Mercenaries book and make sure the requisites I was told of for the alternate versions of Improved Sneak Attack and Greater Sneak Attack are correct, and that the character can actually take them), but when it's done I'll put it up.

Not to rain on anyones parade but don't you ahve to be within 30' to use sneak attck and any related abilities? You could still do it of course, but i don't think you'd have the 50' range.

*holds up the umbrella*

Normally yes but the spell snipers eye increases the range to 60'.
