| Remmick209912-24-06, 12:22 AM | So I'm planning on playing a "dwarf on dire boar" modeled after the Thundertusk Cavalry miniature. I would like to get the "Trample" feat, which allows the boar to make a hoof attack against someone the boar overruns. However. The dire boar has no hoof attack. Does that mean that he can't make any kind of attack when he knocks a guy over? Please advise.............. |

| Remmick209912-24-06, 12:40 AM | Ugh. What would be a good alternative feat-path for a mounted boar rider? |
| Jay_Ibero_91112-24-06, 12:58 AM | There's always the standard mounted combat tree...Spirited Charge and Ride-by Attack... |

You would be limiting your feat to one mount type. Call it Boar Trample or something. I wouldn't allow it for stuff that didnt make sense like "Shark Trample" but your request is flavor-based and reasonable. If your DM is a reasonable person, just ask them if that's ok. |
| Remmick209912-24-06, 12:26 PM | That is indeed good advice. I wanted to get some feedback from the message boards to present him with options, ideas from other players... The thing where he might balk is the fact that the boar's gore does so much more damage than a horse's hoof... but still, the MMI statistic block says the boar weighs like, what, 2,000 pounds? Dude, that's gotta hoit, as they say. |
| Turaj12-26-06, 10:27 PM | i agree with the modified feat idea, but instead of narrowing the feat down to only one creature, expand it to include any creature who can gore. not that it matters much as you are probably the only character to want the feat.....:D |

Aka ever see what happens to a rabbit when it dodges the front of the car but get rolled by the under carriage? You coule even put a spiked plate down there to help the damage :) And as for not having a hoof damage listed. Anybody else here have a large bore stand on their foot before? Its not fun. We had one that liked to wander up to you and just casually step on you. |
| Morrowner12-27-06, 10:39 AM | Not a boar, but a hog. Yeah, not in a hurry to repeat that! I'd ask for the modified trample gore feat.Another 1d8+12 damage on a charge could be huge, and Necklaces of Natural Attacks and shared spells to trick the damage out would be fun, too. What are you going to call your mount? I suggest Snaggletooth. |
