Can anyone explain to me how the Dire Flail can be operated? I mean, if you swing the right flail, the left flail hits you in the shoulder; or vice versa for the left flail.

The only way I could figure out how to swing this thing is to motion like you're rowing a kayak - basically by spinning both sides. The Question I Pose Is:
How does this work at all? And if it does, does anyone actually use this thing?

Now you know why it takes an Exotic Weapon Proficiency. :D

There was a Knight in about 1470 I belive who made the first Dire Flail. He spent months working on it getting it blanced and learning how to use it. He spun it in a back and forth movement becoming a battle feild dervish. Then one day his wife came out and and yelled at him when traing and he stoped moving and the back flail opened up his head. No one ever used it again.
