Yes, as long as you make the trip attack (or other special attack) with a weapon which you threaten the target. For example, unless you wield a weapon that allows you to make a trip attack, trip attacks are unarmed attacks; a character who doesn't threaten while unarmed couldn't make an unarmed attack as an attack of opportunity.
StevenO 08-02-06, 11:46 PM	If you meet the requirements for that special attack then YES. Note that your actions may also provoke an AoO from your opponent as well. Example: They try sunder without feat, you counter with an unskilled disarm, they take AoO on your disarm and again move to sunder, if you have another AoO you can now use it as well...
