RavenDrake 03-05-08, 05:28 PM	Not sure what you mean, so here goes: A disarm performed with your bare hands, that is with your "unarmed strike", counts as a light weapon. As long as you have at least one hand free a successful "unarmed" disarm attack will leave you holding the weapon you disarmed, otherwise it falls on the ground in the defender's square. Regardless, even if both hands are full you can technically make an "unarmed strike" disarm attempt, but you won't neccessarily wind up with the item inhand. If you had a buckler or light shield on, and were holding something in your other hand, then your DM might let you wind up holding(but not necessarily "wielding") the disarmed object in your shield arm, but that's up to the DM.
DLoFunk 03-05-08, 07:10 PM	Perfect. Yeah I'm gonna making a guy that doesn't carry weapons of his own and just disams and beats people with their own weapons. I was thinking about holding a shield to get close enough. After asking, tho, I opted on just a buckler anyways, in case i need to take a 2-handed weapon.
fenixs11 03-06-08, 05:47 PM	easier solution... wear gauntlets, its still considered a light weapon, but that way you aren't technically 'unarmed' with both hands, and weild a shield. take combat expertise and then improved disarm for the +4 bonus and no attack of opportunity. when they have one-handed weapon... you just take it if you succeed. if they have a two handed weapon, you still take it in your open hand. ex: a greatsword in one hand, and a shield in the other. on your next initiative, drop your shield (which is a free action to do) then wield the weapon two-handed. only problem with this is that you're considered using a light weapon when using a bare hand/gauntlet, buckler or light shield... which puts you at a -4 penalty, the disarm feat would put you at net of '0' using a heavy shield counts just as one handed, giving you a +4 total. the weapon special quality 'disarming' (+2 cost modifier) from complete warrior doesn't give you a bonus to the attepmt, but it does negate your opponents bonuses from weapon size catagory and two-handed weapons. talk to your DM to see if they'll allow you to get a shield with this enchantment. if not get a single +1 gauntlet of disarming. (+3 cost modifier net)
fenixs11 03-06-08, 05:51 PM	Edit. you can't use bucklers in an attack... at least not that i heard of. but there's always the dwarven buckler-axe in complete warrior. take the exotic weapon proficency get a + 1 dwarven buckler-axe of disarming to always wield. then wield and use the disarmed weapon, w/out using the buckler to get the +1ac bonus.
