Disarming with two weapon [Archive] - Wizards Community

09-01-05, 07:16 PM The rules don`t say anything about it, but if the wielder of a two handed weapon gets a +4 bonus on a disarm attempt, why not the wielder of two weapons?

I can see the fighter great sword colliding with both the longsword and shortsword of the ranger. As a house rule i would give them both a +4.

The bonus would also apply if someone was trying to disarm the dual weapon wielder, which isn't fair because he's still only using one hand to hold each weapon.

09-01-05, 08:56 PM yes, but taking the -2 penalties on both attacks, and besides, if he loses one of the two weapons, he can no longer make a second attack, can he?

Because a two handed weapon is harder to pry away from somebody since they are holding it with two hands. Two one handed weapons aren't any different then having one one handed weapon, except that you have two... and thus need to be disarmed twice to loose both. It doesn't make it harder to disarm though... only holding any item with both hands does that.

09-02-05, 03:14 AM You could always allow someone to forgo one of their off-hand attacks to treat their main attack as a two-handed weapon for the purposes of the opposed disarm roll (representing using both weapons to pry the opponent's weapon out of his hands).

You have to disarm them twice.

I think i`ll sugest to my DM that i forfeit my off hand attacks to have the +4 bonus.
