This is continuing from my thread in What's a DM to Do? found here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=359067) .

The main reason I posted here is to get the stats for a scourge (just to be sure) and a lash (if that's an actual weapon), including reach and any other special rules like the whip's inability to cut through armor, but any other helpful info would be nice.

Since he's a bard, and therefore proficient with a whip, I'll allow him to use whatever he decides to make, just to be simple.

Reminds me of the time we killed some rust monsters, pulled off their feelers and used them as weapons for the rest of the session. They lost their powers when they dried out, but was great fun while it lasted.

Well Whip daggers unlike whips go through armor like swords. Whips deal nonlethal, but whip daggers don't.

Anyone proficient in whips is automatically proficient in a whip dagger according to Sword and Fist.

Cost 25 gp, 1d6 damage, 19-20, x2. 15 feet reach (like a whip, and can attack adjacent), 3 pounds, slashing. Just like a bow you have to get a might version +100 GP per strength bonus.

There is also the Lasher Prc its got good whip abilities.

Heh, nice.

I don't think whip dagger is quite what I'm looking for, but thanks.

I did some searching, and a scourge seems to do either 1d8 without reach, or 1d6 with reach, but I'm not sure which. Meh, I'll just let him choose. I'm still not sure if it's lethat or nonlethal or if it has the same armor problems as the whip... oh well.
