From the item description on the PC Soris Nynn. Since I don't have the MIC yet can some one tell me how this works. You use a swift action to do a standard action action charge? So if I used this out of turn (you can use Swift actions out of turn right?) would that mean I only get a move action my next round? |
| jaelis08-09-07, 11:38 AM | You're mixing up swift and immediate actions. You get one swift action each turn, but you have to take it on your turn. Casting a quickened spell is a swift action. You can take one immediate action per round, in place of your swift action. An immediate action doesn't have to be on your turn, if you take it out of turn you don't get a swift action next turn. But I don't have MIC and can't comment on your item. What you have written doesn't make much sense. |
| Techsmithy08-09-07, 11:51 AM | Sorry about that. I was getting swift and immediate mixed up. And what I bolded is the direct quote from the character sheet. I am as confused as you are how it works. I think it lets you do a charge as a standard action instead of a full round, but you can only move your base speed. This would leave you with a move action left to move your base speed. So I can standard action charge, then move for up to 2x base speed or full round regular charge moving up to 2x base speed. I guess this would be good to move again after charging if you drop the guy but I am still confused how this works. |

I assume you meant "So I can standard action charge, then move for up to 1x base speed..." If you wear a Dex enhancing item of some kind, you can also charge across difficult terrain and through allied squares. Uses for the boots include getting yourself into a proper position to have a straight line to your target (as you still require a straight path to make a Charge even with the boots) or to Move after a short-range charge, either because you dropped your foe, or because you want to Tumble away after the attack now that your AC is lower for instance. |
