| Grandmaster_Kane04-11-07, 09:56 PM | Blade Paragon Level -- Special 1 -- Truth of the Blade, Secret of the blade-Deathless frenzy 2 -- Flurry of death/ 1 day 3 -- Secret of the blade- Crippling strike 4 -- Flurry of death/ 2 day 5 -- Secret of the blade- Throw weapon 6 -- Flurry of death/ 3 day 7 -- Secret of the blade- Art of the double cut 8 -- Flurry of death/ 4 day 9 -- Secret of the blade- Blade Weave 10 -- Flurry of death/ 5 day, Faith in the blade Alignment: Any Hit Dice: D10 Prerequisites: Character must have Perfect two weapon fighting feat, 25 Dex, Must use a bladed weapon, 25+ base attack bonus, Weapons must be the same size, Epic Weapon focus, Imp Critical Skill Points at Each Level: 4 + Int Modifier Class Features Weapon and Armor Proficiency - Characters gain no proficiency with any weapons of armor Truth of the Blade- At the 1st level of the Blade paragon class the character gains 1 extra attack with his primary and off hand weapons each round at his highest base value. This is symbolic of the incredible bond that the weilder and the weapon share. Does not stack with similar effects that grant extra attacks like haste. Secret of the blade- Starting at the 1st level and following every other level (1st,3rd,5th,7th...etc) The Blade Paragon falls within him/herself to meditate and discovers a fighting secret few know Secrets must be taken in order given Deathless frenzy- The Blade paragon enters a frenzy and gains +15 to Str, and +5 con, dex for 5 mintues. The frenzy can be ended early. The Paragon CAN surpass his normal limit using this ability. The hitpoints last for the duration of the frenzy. A Blade paragon can only use the frenzy 3 times per day . The strain on the body only allows the paragon to move and see half of there normal distances and the paragon is Fatigued immediatly at the end of the frenzy for the length of the frenzy - (the character level + con modifer) . Crippling strike- Your knowledge of all anatomy is so great you can spend 1 full round examing a oppoenent and on your next attack attempt to permenetly cripple them (Fortitude save DC 10 + 1/2 character level + Dex ability modifier ) unless they make a successful save at which point they are merely stunned for 1 rounds. A crippled enemy can only move at 1/5 of it's base speed and is Always caught flat footed because of the difficulty of movement. This attack can only be made once per ingagement per enemy and only works on humanoids and creatures native to your plane. Throw weapon- This high risk maneuver allows you to attempt to instantly slay you opponent (does not work on plants, outsiders, undead, oozes or abterrains (sp?) ) A reflex save of (10 + 1/2 character level ) is required to partly avoid the attack and a save of (20 + 1/2 character level ) is required to completely avoid the manuever. If the target succeeds at partly avoiding the maneuver they only take 5d6 damage this damge is subject to damage reduction. If the attack completely miss it lands d6 x 5 feet away from the target. You can only use this attack 1 time per oppenent per day beacuse after the first they become wise to your tricks Art of the double cut- In the event of a natural 20 critical you are able to perform an extra attack that round with the same bonus as the prevous attack Blade Weave- For every round that you dont take a move action you can weave your blades in a defensive pattern giving you +10 ac bonus. Flurry of death- For 5 round you gain + 20 on all attack and +10 on damage rolls. In addition to this you can also make a additional 4 attacks per full round attack (2 primary ,2 off hand) . But if your opponent does not die in those 5 rounds you are fatigued and you take a -15 morale penatly on all attack rolls for 1 minute. Faith in the blade- You have such a connection with your blade that after 5 rounds of concentration you can use it to heal yourself the damage you inflict the next round. But this is only useable on live creatures. If you guys have some ideas for me ill listen |
| Dielzen04-11-07, 10:22 PM | If you were finished now it would be...uhh...supremely overpowered. Not to mention you might want to take a look over some of the epic rules. The main points are things like BAB and Saves increase in a completely different manner past 20th character level, and class tables don't include such things. (I'll be nice and not comment on the rest til you complete it, since you asked :P ) |
| Lord Karsus04-12-07, 09:16 AM | -Yeah, extremely overpowered might be an understatement... |
| Grandmaster_Kane04-12-07, 03:50 PM | anybody have any idea's on limiters? |
| Dielzen04-12-07, 05:53 PM | Not sure on limiters, but common sense checks and balances are quite jumping off the page... 1 - d12 HPs for a Fighter (d10) or Ranger (d8) concept 2 - Skill Points based on DEX?? How does being nimble increase your knowledge? 3 - +20 to CON for 5 min = 250hp at lvl 25, then another bonus 50 on top of that. Haven't even read the rest. |

I made a bunch of chages you you should read it now im keeping the d12 -.- dex is no lower a factor in skill points and dont even get me started on the con bonus -.- |
| Lord Karsus04-12-07, 08:24 PM | -Another thing...DEX of 30? I have never played an Epic campaign before (The highest level character I ever had was 18th Level), but is 30, without magical items to enhance it, really possible? If you figure you start out with an 18 to DEX, and you add your 5 points to DEX, that's still a 23. With one of those Tomes of Dexterity, you get another bonus, but not an extra +7! |

| Lord Karsus04-12-07, 08:47 PM | trust me that isnt that high of Dex at high levels -Barring magical items, how is it possible to get a DEX that high? I'm not including magical items, because, as far as I know, you are not supposed to count magical enhancements to physical stats, when it comes to determining things like PrCs, and the like. |
| BrennonGoldeye04-12-07, 08:57 PM | A 30 is still very high as a requirement without some sort of magical enhancement. Even for an epic drow. Now maybe as a planespanning class? Then you have an exponentialy larger population to pull from. I do like the concept.:fight!::duel::ghosted: |

Well elminster has 29 int so i think it's possible or should i lower the req just a bit? now you dont have to be a drow |
| Lord Karsus04-12-07, 09:19 PM | Well elminster has 29 int so i think it's possible -He is also Level 35, so if Elminster started out with an INT of 18, and pumped all of those attribute points into INT, he could theoretically have an INT of 26. Then, factor in the Wish spell he used to increase in INT... or should i lower the req just a bit? -Yeah, I'd lower it just a bit. Maybe 23. 23 is a good number. Michael Jordan wore it, and look at what he did! ;) |

| Dielzen04-12-07, 11:04 PM | Well, some of your godlike abilities are tempered with permanent and potentially deadly repurcussions (-2d6 cha to a fighter could be the end of the character) I can't see why anyone who qualifies for this PrC would do more than take 1 level for Truth of the Blade and Art of the Doublecut. 1 level dip = 2 extra attacks a round and a bonus attack potential on Nat 20s, not to mention 2 extra HPs and 2 extra skill points. Faith in the Blade has some issues....this is a TWF concept, but the ability only mentions "your blade" leaving me to wonder if I get to pick whichever weapon deals the most damage that round. (as a side note, this isn't the only ability that seems to ignore the TWF concept, and the defensive one is the only place in here that mentions the weapons must be the same size) |
| Aetheryn04-13-07, 01:51 PM | Gah... you might as well forget the Epic Classes and just stamp "Deity" on the Drow. Sorry, but that is just insanely overpowered. It is a cool concept, but that is a bit overboard. |
| Grandmaster_Kane04-14-07, 09:22 PM | there i made it so that you have to take more than a few levels to get what you want |
| Dielzen04-14-07, 11:52 PM | Nothing on my TWF comments? |
| Terraneaux04-15-07, 01:12 AM | I'm pretty sure this guy's a troll... even real drow fanbois aren't this inane. |
| Grandmaster_Kane04-15-07, 03:15 PM | Nothing on my TWF comments? um can you exsplain your comment i kinda lost interest while reading it |
| Dielzen04-15-07, 05:52 PM | Yea, I kinda lose intrest when people point out serious flaws in my stuff too. Gonna have to agree with the troll idea....GL with your concept. |
| Lord Karsus04-15-07, 05:58 PM | I'm pretty sure this guy's a troll... even real drow fanbois aren't this inane. -Nah, Kane's been around for a little bit now, and sometimes he has halfway decent things to add to a conversation. |
| Grandmaster_Kane04-15-07, 06:02 PM | -Nah, Kane's been around for a little bit now, and sometimes he has halfway decent things to add to a conversation. wow thanks you only kicked me in my left nut instead of going for the full shabangabang anyway anything to say about my paragon? |
| Lord Karsus04-15-07, 06:10 PM | wow thanks you only kicked me in my left nut instead of going for the full shabangabang -Hey, being kicked in the left nut is better than being kicked in the whole shebangabang. Trust me. ;) |
| Grandmaster_Kane04-15-07, 06:28 PM | but still anything to say about my prestige class? |
| Lord Karsus04-15-07, 06:29 PM | -I already told you my suggestions. |
| Grandmaster_Kane04-15-07, 07:34 PM | anything ELSE |
| Lord Karsus04-15-07, 07:55 PM | -If I had anything else to add, don't you think I would have said it by now, or I would have said it at the beginning, when I was first mentioning what I thought? |
| The_sleeper104-16-07, 12:00 AM | Abilitys have counters that balance them from being too deadly. As an example your last ability that lets you get +35 to hit and damage. Its a CRAZY large bonus to hit that is crying for for some kind of balance. You did not give it one you instead made it twice as deadly and make it so you can attack twice as much as normal. Instead make it so that you can only attack once and then it becomes more reasonable even if you do a bit more damage 50 or so with ONE attack, but letting someone attack the equivelant of 2 full attack rounds rounds with +35 to hit and damage means that every attack hits, at level 21 with haste that means 12 attacks with totaly 420 EXTRA damage from the bonus 35 points not to mention the base weapon damage with the base dmage likely averageing to 300ish. compare that to an average round with around 150 damage, the power is just plain way over powered to make damage go from 150ish to over 700. most every power you have there has that kind of problem. Look around and find some other class that has a similar ability to judge what power level things should be like, as an example the war blade has an ability to add 100 damage to an attack but is limited to only ONE attack a round (as a standard action) and no bonus to hit. |

| Grandmaster_Kane04-24-07, 05:53 PM | i have edited it yet again so that it isnt uber powerful please reveiw |
| Dielzen04-24-07, 11:03 PM | Still the same issues...one ability requires both weapons be same size, and several abilities only mention "your sword" and it's a TWF concept. There's no sense of cohesion to these abilities, just random crud thrown together cause it sounds cool. |
| Dielzen04-25-07, 10:06 PM | If I didn't read it, how would I know that only one ability mentions that your swords must be the same size, and how would I know that most abilities mention "your sword" instead of being plural? I believe I was the first or second person to comment on this PrC, so "you're going along with the others" is a silly idea. If you can't take criticism, you shouldn't post asking for it. Plain and simply, it's unorganized and has no cohesion/concept to unify it, nor does it make sense. As I said in last post, it's a bunch of junk thrown together cause it sounds cool, there's no pattern/logic evidenced at all. Take, for instance, my comment ages ago about taking a non-Barbarian concept and giving it d12 hitdie. Abilities like "throw your sword" have what to do with TWF? The only ability that even remotely makes sense from a epic TWF concept is the one that mentions both swords must be of the same size, Blade Weave. Yet even this ability is imcomplete...if I take a full round attack I get +10 to my AC...that's insanely overpowered if it's written as intended, or you need to fix the wording. Faith in the blade -- once again you only list sword...do I get to pick which sword before or after damage is dealt? Do I really get the combination of both swords? Can I Faith in the Blade then launch into a Deathless Frenzy or Flurry of Death, enabling a massive amount of healing? The fact that you've changed the HD to d10s and attempted to put more wording in regarding the use of two weapons of the same size shows you're just an attention monger that feels the best way to get results is to lambast the people who try to offer honest criticism, opinions, problems with what you present. So, continue the trend, insult me again for trying to help...what the heck, it's working so far. |
| WizO_Shadow04-26-07, 11:46 PM | Ok. I'm locking down the thread. 1. It's getting to a flamewar so might as well nip it while I got the chance. WizO_Shadow RPG Boards Team |
