From the game books, we know dragons can live for one or two thousand years or more, and no lifepan is given for celestials and fiends, which, to me at least, indicates they are effectively immortal unless slain. We know that a half elf has a longer lifespan than a normal human, so why would not the same apply to a character with one of these, and possibly other templates? I would really like to hear your thoughts on this. |

I think I remember in one of the old Dragonlance novels (Original trilogies) that a Dragon described an elf's life comparable to a season in a Human's. Also, the Dragon that was in love with Huma, had a sister that fell in love with Gith-something. The Elven Prince. Add on top of that, that Dragons sleep for long periods, which may be a form of hibernation. The periods that they sleep may not even count in relationship to their age. In game mechanics, I'd say a Half-Dragon lives longer then an Elf, regardless of what the mixed blood may be. Possibly longer then that or even double it. Dragon's aren't just incredible creatures, but magical beasts of supernatural power. The kind of creature where a drop of its blood is filled with power. Half-Celestials and Half-Fiends, I would give them limited immortality. After all, they have a direct biological connection to other planes and the gods. I'd say they'll live forever as long as no one kills them off or they catch some sort of magical disease or poison. (Limited part) |
