To add to what Mr. Costa said, Crintri are the nobility of Dambrath. They're descendants of the drow who conquered Dambrath and the barbarian people they defeated. You should read the Shining South. They are a particular phenomenon, as they are raised among the half-drow and half-elven (descended from the priestesses of Loviatar) nobility of Dambrath, which made the fatal mistake of deciding to attack an underground drow town several centuries ago. In the absence of the drow who have returned to their subterranean city, the Crinti ("nobles", iirc) rule Dambrath and often - though less so recently - raid the surrounding areas. The Crinti Shadow Marauders are the best among these raiders, and the human influence is evident in their expert horsemanship. Drow have seldom been famous for their riding skill, but the Dambrai have long been considered horsemen of near legendary skill. Combining that tradition with stealth and vengefulness that would make any drow proud, the Shadow Marauders can make even the Haalruans uneasy.
