| cykickspy02-08-08, 05:52 PM | I am about to start an adventure where we are mosters but I am a little confused about how to go about creating one. We are starting as level 10 characters and I want to create a centaur. I know that a centaur is +2 level and an 8th level character would be considered a 10th level, so I think that i can have 8 levels of fighter but someone told me I had to add in the hit dice (4 HD for centaur) so that I could only make my character 4 levels of fighter? so does this mean I am a 10th character with 4th level character skills, feats, etc... ?????? or does my character get 4 levels of monterous humanoid? any info would be helpful... thanx |
| SATA02-08-08, 06:38 PM | Races of Faerun pag. 132, The Centaurs are listed there with just a Level Adjustment of +3, so yes you could be a Fighter level 7 Centaur and you will be a Character level 10. |
| cykickspy02-09-08, 07:16 PM | but what about HD? I was told a centaur at 10th level would be (4 HD + 4 character level + 2 level adjustment) but is considered an 8th level characters when it comes to skills, feats, stats, etc... D&D 3.5 faq page 5 (where it talks about minotaurs) so how do I figure out how many feats and skill pts i would get? thanx |
| SATA02-10-08, 02:23 AM | According to my knowledge, the only thing you need, are the stats of The Centaurs from Races of Faerun pag. 132, I could be wrong but I guess and hope that I'm not. I guess that the one who told you about the HD was thinking in the rules from Savage Species but in The Realms you don't need that since Centaurs are a minor race, so again, Races of Faerun pag. 132. So you will be an 8th level Fighter or any other class or combination of classes you want to be, then add the Level Adjustment for being a Centaur which is +2 and that way you will be a 10th Level Character. So you got it right since I re-read your initial post.:D |
