Does a Shadovars level adjustment go away in the light? [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-27-07, 12:11 AM I know it's probably to good to be true but I wanted to see it in writing just to be sure.

According to the Forgotten Realms, Races of Faerun under Shades p.147-149 it lists "[bullet] Level Adjustment +4. Shades are more powerfull and gain levels more slowly than the common races of Faerun..." Then in Abilities and Racial Features it says "In well-lit surroundings (daylight or the radius of a daylight spell) none of these powers function."

Does that mean a shade character would gain 4 levels of what ever class they are AND lose all of the shadow abilities in light? or was listing the level adjustment as a power just a typo or something?

05-27-07, 01:31 AM No, it implies nothing of the sort. It just means you suck even more in the daylight.

05-31-07, 12:47 PM Their LA of +4 already factored in the possibility of the template being flat out useless in daylight, so it would not go away.:)
