Zombie_Duck 08-17-07, 11:48 PM	My friend is thinking of running a realms campaign and I am having trouble with my character idea. I had a idea for a realms character and need help on it because I am more of a Eberron type Player. My idea was for a soulknife. I love dwarves and think I want to run with the duergar for this character idea. But I know little about the realms anymore. It has been a while sense I played i them and years sense I read any of the novels. So I dragged out all the old forgotten realms game books and started to go through them. Which ones would be best to get the information I need to write a good backstory. I starting with Races and moving out from there. The build: Soulknife (variant out of mind's eye) Name: Race: Duergar Class: Soulknife Background Feat: Bonus Gear: Feats 1 HIDDEN TALENT 3 PSIONIC WEAPON 6 9 GREATER PSIONIC WEAPON 12 15 18
BadCatMan 08-18-07, 02:46 AM	Races Of Faerun (3rd), Underdark (3.5), Drizzt Do'Urden's Guide To The Underdark (2nd) would be good sources of information on the Duergar. Also check out Faiths & Pantheons (3rd) or preferably Demihuman Deities (2nd) for information on the duergar deities Laduguer and Deep Duerra. And see the duergar soulknife assassins in the back of the Player's Guide To Faerun (3.5). Eytan Bernstein's Class Chronicles series on the website (if you can get in and find it) is also be good for some duergar and psionics related lore. Deep Duerra is the duergar goddess of psionics, and I've always believed that duergar from cities faithful to her are more likely to be psionic. Laduguer is a duergar/dwarven god of magic, and I assume his duergar are the MM magical variety. Of course, cross-pollination is possible. Dunspierrin is the centre of her faith and duergar psionics.
