Dwarven Monks [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-22-08, 12:28 AM Hey all just wondering if you fine people can tell me any info you might have on Dwarven Monks. What they generally like/dislike etc.

Also are there any known dwarven monasterys in faerun?

02-22-08, 07:05 AM Nothing specific about dwarf monks...

Monk is a unique class in that no matter what race OR alignment you are you are loyal to your monastary first everything else second.

For a dwarf its clan first everything else second so how it would work out if I was playing it is that a newborn dwarf was found at a scene of carnage by a monk out for a daily walk/meditation and took the dwarf into the monostary.

Another rout is that the dwarf was excommunicated from his clan for a grievence/crime that wasn't punishable by death or jail.

If not either of those then you are running a conflicted personality because say your monk order allied with a group that was at war with your clan you you didn't listen you would be removed and more then likly killed by his order and if you didn't ally with your clan its like slapping you king in the face.

But Dwarfs themselves tend to be drawn rowards the lawful alignment so its that far fetched then say an elven monk.

Order of the Stone Fist

Maybe they could be a order of monks who split off thier clan ties to become advisors/protectors to the king.

Dwarves have allways been one of my favorite races.
