Well, a simple (or not) question that I want to make. A long time ago, I don't remember who in this forum has told that the crossbreed between an Elf and an Half-Elf, in the Forgotten Realms Setting, would be an Elf. Is that true ? Are there any source of information regarding this fact?

Don't know the source but it's true.

The character shall retain a bit of visual humanness about them but use the stats of an elf, just as quarter-elves retain a bit of elvenness about them but use the stats of a human.

As long as you are at least 51% anything, then that is your primary type. Anything less then half would be negligeble.

However, Templates and 'blooded' Feats are another way to give a charcter with less then 50% of a race some attributes from that race.

It is very clear in FR that if an elf and a half elf have child, then that child is a full blooded elf.

But..this is just a statement, or there is a good explanation for that? Do you know the source of this confirmation you gave me?

Alright, this actually came up in my campaign.

What if there is 1/4 sun elf, 1/4 aquatic elf, 1/4 moon elf, 1/4 human?? A 1/2 sun elf 1/2 moon elf mated with a half elf (aquatic)

...what would that be?

Game stat wise, Beav, that would be an Elf, and I would lean towards a PHB elf. I wouldn't say that they would be a "full blooded elf", GEV, but they would be a game-stat elf. This is how it was in 2nd edition, and page 58 of Races of Faerun says the same thing.

an elf with the ability to swim and hold it's breath for a long time.

it would be proof that the "too many elf subraces" people are right?

anyway, standard PHB elf, with ranks in swim

Not standard PHB Elf. Pick any one of the listed Elven subraces. That would be the dominant one.

It'd more or less be an elf, but probably a bit more strudy and stocky by elven standards.

Beav, it would be born as a elf of one of that races. It could be a Sun, Moon or Aquatic, but no mixture and since it's more than 51% of elf it would only have subtle human influence on his appearance.
