woodelf ranger 10 (with elven ranger substitution levels and distracting shot)
feats:swift and silent, brachiation,and woodland archer im also using a variant of the ranger that gives me point blank shot instead of rapid shot

oh and i was looking for something really stealthy

05-08-07, 01:20 PM U can add one lvl of shadowdancer if u need something "REAL" stealthy ..Of course u shall loose one ranger lvl (or more ) n some feats but i think its worthy!

Um, Made Mage, I think your confusing Deepwood Sniper with Order of the Bow Initiate as the Deepwood Sniper has never been revised. Order of the Bow Initiate was updated in Complete Warrior from its version in Sword and Fist though.

I ran a Ranger/Horizon Walker in the Realms a few months ago. I took him from level 2 to level 13 before I had to depart the game due to scheduling issues. Other than him being a half-orc instead of a wood elf, he was very similar to the parent's request.

I built him as basically a skirmisher & very sneaky tracker. He had silent moves/shadow mithril chainshirt, custom-made boots of speed (+30 movement instead of +10), and an aweful lot of ranks in Hide, Listen, Move Silent, Spot and Survival.

Combine those abilities with Power Attack, Quickdraw and Spring Attack, a high Str score & nasty greatsword.... dart in, hit hard, and dart back out. Works quite nicely, as long as you don't have to be the party's tank.

For an elf, I'd probably focus on bow skills instead of the greatsword method... but the idea is much the same. Horizon Walker is an awesome way to build a skirmisher.
