Walls 03-25-07, 09:02 PM	Ladies and gents, Here's the basis for my character. This is more as an NPC really, a character in a story I am writing (which may include Maynard Wentwhistle, my halfling wererat rogue from the Census thread). The character starts as a haughty, absolutely gorgeous Paladin of Sune, the goddess of beauty. They are captured by someone (Followers of Loviatar?) and tortured, healed and tortured some more. Eventually a handy adventuring group wanders in and saves them, only the Paladin refuses to be healed, saying Sune would not let him be. Mangled, missing an eye and ear, whip marks covering his back and arms, burns, etc, the Paladin is NOT healed (Sune is chaotic after all!) and refuses to be by anyone, letting the scars heal and forsaking Sune. THey make their way to a monastery where he, in recluse, becomes a follower of Ilmater, the patron of suffering, and a monk. Eventually he falls farther into the faith, perhaps even becoming a cleric of Ilmater. During the monk phase he takes on the vow of poverty, forsaking all his worldly possessions for the betterment of himself. Think about it. This guy all about looks is scarred, looks inwardly and sees his mistakes. Wanders as a Sufferer helping the needed (hence meeting Wentwhistle, The Mad Rat) Now... any suggestions on how to do this? I am thinking like 2 or 3rd level Paladin then maybe 4 or so levels in monk, maybe 3, whatever, then a few in cleric. Other PrC's that could work for the CHARACTER? Ideas? Thoughts? Suggestions?
Tevin Kevlak 03-26-07, 04:40 PM	Well this character isn't going to be the most optimal guy around since Monk is really a class to focus mainly on not take a few levels in. I'd suggest taking levels of the Sacred Fist PrC (complete divine) to get the most out of your monk/cleric combo. The only downside to the sacred fist is that you cannot use any weapons which meshes well with the Vow of Poverty. The only thing with having a Paladin/Monk/Cleric is that you'll need to have good rolls for all of your stats save possibly for intelligence and perhaps strength if you choose to take weapon finesse.
