I'm getting ready to run Undermountain, and due to my player's request, it'll be a Gestalt Campaign.

I'm curious, what's the easy way to make the monsters tough enough to remain a challenge?

The methods I've considered so far:

Double Hit Points
Add templates that would double the CR
grant +CR bonuses to most stats/AC/atks/etc

At this point #2 seems the easiest, but I'm curious if anyone else has tried to run a Gestalt with a "stock adventure" and how's worked out, especially if anyone's tried UM or the new "adventure path" for FR (since I plan to merge the two together)

How many people in your party... if its only two or three I wouldn't do much at all except maybe max out the hitpoints...

What about just upping they're HD/level and giving them max hp?

Well, I'm going to have roughly 6 players, so I already have to do some minor tweaks to make it a challenge (add another monster or two, max HD, etc., depending on the specific encounter).

Those are fairly easy things to do on the fly, but expanding it past that to challenge gestalt PCs is something I haven't had to do before. Taking a guy and doubling his HP doesn't really counterbalance a PCs dual nature in a Gestalt Campaign, and I don't want to rebuild all the opponents.

At this point I'm just going to go with a template that's within 1 of their CR, unless anyone has a better suggestion.
