Which race are we talking about? I would think there's several. Goblinoids of various kind likely find anything delicious, whether gnome or themselves. Myself, ehhh. I never found them particularly delightful. Too much fat, spoils the meat and makes it greasy.

Gnomes are in fact rather sinewy and combined with their leathery skin, a cooked one has the taste and texture approximating the sole of an old boot. Sages debate whether this is a naturally occurring genetic defense mechanism, or merely a side effect of the magical energies most gnomes are infused with. The correlation between this and early loss of hair is a currently ongoing study.

Indeed?

I was under the impression that they were rather tender and tasted closer to steak than an old shoe.
Maybe thats only when properly hit several times with a maul?

-You're just making things up because you don't want to be eaten. ;)

-In all seriousness though, the taste of Gnome depends on the race of the being eating him/her, as well as that beings psychological state.
