Was just curious, does anyone have canon material on the Illumians? Have a player wanting to play one and we need material.

03-09-07, 09:46 PM Suggestions for how to incorporate Illumians into the Realms were given in Champions of Valor. They're not official because they don't definitively say Illumians are present anywhere in the Realms, but it's as close to an official source as you can get.

That's alright, I will. Problem is though I have a player wanting to play a half-drow, and I'm not happy, I'm probably gonna kill him off the first chance I get since I hate half-drow...:P

Then Instead of a half drow, I think the player should be a half kender/half Ogre Bard!

03-13-07, 11:00 AM I have thought about introducing Illumians into the realms as well. Here is my take;

The patron of the Illumians in the realms is Denier, god of glyphs and the written word. They respect Oghma as well, but as the race is techniclly living glyphs, they credit Deneir with their creation. They are a reclusive race, concerned mainly with the accumalation of knowledge, which they horde in their librarys in the Astral and Shadow planes. While on Toril, they live in isolated, and well hidden compounds, leaving only to aquire and accumalate more written knowledge.

I was going to use them to introduce True Namers in the realms. The idea I had, was that True Speech could actually be the language of the meta text. True namers, would be a monastic order of Deneir, devoted to learning the language of the meta text. Then the next thought came... why not make them Illumian?

Sure is a good thing he will have several Tarrasque Companions as well as a minor Deity.
