I know it's been mentioned in a sourcebook (tho I forget which) that the larger tears have an atmosphere.

I've been working on development of a plotline that involves the recent "shedding" of a Tear (the Cale books) and a race of moon-dwellers.

Lathander (birth) in combination with Selune (moon) and an as-yet undecided third deity work together to create a race of creatures that live on the moon. Unbeknowst to the other two deities, Lathander is planning to make this race his "inherit the realms" race after his next Dawn Cataclysm, seeing as how he's the only Greater Deity of the trio. Selune is willing to work with Lathander on this, even though they aren't often the closest of allies, as he can be the greatest ally in the upcoming, inevitable battle to come with Shar.

The existance of this race was supposed to be a secret from anyone else (deific or mortal), however the tearfall had one big chunk that, while thoughly decimated, shows evidence of a culture.

I'm looking for some help with this, as I've hit a couple stumbling blocks:

1-Who would help this endeavor? Finder is "cycle of life" which doesnt really seem to fit. If the new race is to be an offshoot of a demihuman race, than one of the (non-creator) deities of that race might be appropriate. (Note that recreating the whole world in his image could be difficult if the race is not human-like in appearance, not that gods can't appear however they want, but his ego is too big for that, I would think.)

2-What kind of characteristics would a race of moon-dwellers have? Plantlike creatures that live through photosynthesis? Dwarflike creatures that live inside the surface of the rock?

3-What sorts of adverse/good effects would a race of moon-dwellers experience on the earth (and vice-versa). For instance, the earth's moon has 1/16th (I think) the gravity of Earth, making you able to jump around like crazy, but imagine a creature born there trying to toil under the repressive gravity of the earth.

The book is Realmspace.

The bigger tears and selune are both inhabited by humans, elves, dwarves, gnomes, halflings, and pretty much everything you will find on Toril.

RW moon has 1/6th gravity of earth.
Selune and all the tears have normal gravity and atmosphere.

Wasn't an enclave teleported to a moon before Karsus screwed up?

Are you referring to Opus/Selūnarra Derren?

Opus's save from apparent demise during Karsus's Folly was briefly referenced in the entry for Opus in the N:EoM boxed set. Whereupon it becomes Selūnarra in Lost Empires of Faerūn and now resides in Selūne's [planar] realm.
