My roommate is crazy :looloo: . I have joked about playing a Half-Celestial Half-Dragon for a year and a half now, and now he wants to run a game with us as insane level adjusted monster characters. Right now I'm a 2nd level chaotic monk Half-Celestial/Gold Dragon :monk: , my other roomate is a Centaur/Shadow Dragon fighter :fight!: , my best friend is a Doppleganger/Shadow Dragon Shadow Caster, another friend is a Nymph/Half-Vampire, and the last player wants to be a straight up human wizard. Please tell me what you think of this and list any ideas for monster characters, because he's not sure what to throw at us. :D

I think it's a very good idea... Then you will play in a very different way. To expand the list, just begin to list all templates you have at hand and take the monster manual. Don't worry about aplying more than one template to the same creature.

There's a book from Green Roning Publishing called Bastards & Bloodlines - A Guide To Half-Breeds that you might find interesting. It presents many new races such as a half-unicorn/half-elf, a half-gargoyle/half-dwarf, and similar ones. There are also new half-breed templates, how to make new half-breed templates and the half-creature [bipedal] and [quadrupedal] templates (the quadrupedal is similar to the tauric creature template in Monster Manual II and Savage Species).

I say I want to put their heads on my wall, like trophies. ^^

But isn't the HD a problem?

The HD might be a problem for me, but having a 30 AC helps :D . Although my friend the half-doppleganger/half-shadow dragon have only 2 levels. For this reason he will let us exchange 4 skill points for certain feats like toughness, improved toughness, things to help keep us alive up to 3 times. Now having like a high intelligence bonus, I barely notice the miss and welcome the extra HP. Thank you Valgard, I will inform my DM of Bastards and Bloodlines.

The name of the game has changed. Now I am the highest level adjusted pc, followed by the half-shadow dragon/half-centaur, then by a half-vampire/elf, followed by 2 +1 level adjustment pcs, a tiefling and an orc version or so I am told. Much sadness and dissapointment in the people who wussed out and wouldn't go with a minimum of a +5 level adjustment. I will have to teach them a lesson in and out of the game for there inability to try such things without fear.

Here here, I'm currently playing an Adult Neogi in the Shackled City adventure path set in the Realms. We're level 6 so I don't even have a class level yet and I'm loving every minute of it. We also have a Half-Dragon Lizardfolk soon to be Paladin in the group but the other characters aren't quite as exciting with a Human Warmage, a Human Fighter/Wizard, and a Human cleric.

WHile playing outlandish and high LA/ECL types is normally a problem in a game where most others are not you have done it (more or less) right wiht most of the PCs all being about the same LA/ECL. have fun and enjoy a wild campaign. You might also suggest to the DM to see if he can find a copy of an old 1e module that took the entire party into looney tunes land and had them dealing wiht the "NPC"s there should be right up your PC's alley after conversion.

:D Hazzah! More crazy gamers are out there! I'm not alone! Now if are DM wasn't a flake who could be distracted by air, we would actually be on a great quest. Most of us haven't even run into one another yet, it's just been a bunch of misfit monsters chasing their own tail (yes everyone in the game has a tail to actually chase.) and we have accomplish little in the game. It is alot of fun, but we've gone nowhere! :weep:

Seems interesting... as I am known in my group to come up with things that are just bizzare or against the norm. Especially when I DM.;) Will have to look up that Bastards and Bloodlines book.

If you want a melee type character go for a half ogre/half Dragon, I think you are gonna have a +5 LA but your gonna be able to fly, have 10' reach and be mad strong. I played a game like this and they are fun. i read about the subsutitution of skill points for feats and I think that is alittle crazy, but to each is own. just have fun.
