I'm interested in the concept of a mage-killer, but the ones that I know about all involve the use of magic. So, I'm looking for a prc that gives magic resistance
and better will save progression (and that keeps the flavor of mage-killer). Maybe some special or even magic-like abilities, whatever. If there are'nt any cool ones then feel free to make one up ad post it.

Also, as a side note, info on the arcanopath monks could possibly be of use: beliefs, abilities, ethics, etc.

Look for the Occult Slayer prestige class from Complete Warrior.

The character doesn't hate spellcasters, he just specializes in killing them.

A Drow Monk should suffice.

Or a Deep Mountain Dwarf monk with vow of poverity would good nice saves.

or you could try a little of both.

LVL 2 Paladin LVL 13 Monk LVL 5 Jordain Vizier

Halruaan Human You'll need to choose your feats wisely
(if you don't get a chance to use your skills much you won't want to choose this option)

Other than that...

Make a rogue that can shadow step. Forget about defense and go pure offense after all if your a rogue if you pick a fight with the enemy knowing your coming your dead anyway. For this just pick ranger/rogue take shadow dancer than shadowlord. If your dm allows LA take the shadow walker template for 1+. In fact for that matter if you have the shadow walker template you might just be able to shadow step to the guy as a Pure fighter and unload, or a monk.

Typically the problem with killing casters is you have to get through the other guys. So the best way is monk or someone with shadow step.

Reflavor the PrC to your liking.

Chaotic Nuetral single classed Ranger.

Favored enemies:
humans
elves
undead
magical beasts
aberrations

then since he is stopping at a sub type rather than a specific monster just decrease the benefits of the favored enemy from +2 to +1.
Acquire a Bow of force (conveys the force damage to ammunition, force ammo has a chance to dispel magical protections)
Take the two weapon combat specialty, wield a light mace of dispelling/disruption or something similar in your off hand, wield a brilliant energy/keen battle axe in your primary, and carry something like... defending/wounding shortsword as a backup weapon. Acquire a suit of Celestial Armor (only costs a mere 22K to buy) Get a ring of force shielding, ring of spell turning. Boots of teleportation, Cloak of resistance +5, Bracers of archery.

By the time you get to level 20 you should be able to afford all that and more.... heh heh. Also you should be able to totally ***** slap most of the kind of things that become mages... also archtype mages cooked up by DMs tend to have a fetish for undead, the rangers nature spells can be slightly useful against them.

Rune scarred berseker from the unapproachable east might be good.
Cultist of the shadowed peak from Lost Empires of Faerun is also geared toward killing mages.

Complete mage has an option for Rangers to take arcanists as favored enemy at first level... Need I say more?

A rogue monk/jordain (SS) should work too. You can also take a look at the new unofficial feats I worked up for the PrC in Prestige of the Realms on Eric Boyd's website.
