I'm looking for more animals (magical or regular) that are Realms specific, such as the Rothe and Tressym mentioned in the FRCS. I've looked through some books, but my collection is far from complete.

I'm also looking for magical (or mundane) animals with some strong ties to D&D like the blink dog, owlbear, displacer beast, or krenshar. The more like a real animal the better (look or act like one albeit with specal abilities and unusual intelligence), though even ones that border aberration or other classifications would be good.

Any suggestions?

For a start there are unicorns along the unicorn run next to the dire wood.
There are mulitiple abberrations within the dire wood.
Chult is full of reptiles such as dinosaurs.
The FRC is full of useful information.

These sourcebooks are ones that I've found to contain creatures unique to Faerun - that I can remember, at least.
- Silver Marches*
- Races of Faerun**
- City of Splendors: Waterdeep
- Monsters of Faerun*

Notes
* = Out of print; need to order via Amazon.com or the like.
** = Possibly out of print as well.

A number of unique Realms animals have appeared in the various Elminster Ecologies and other sources. I converted a lot of them to 3E or 3.5E in the Bestiary of the Realms Vol. 1-2 posted on Eric Boyd's website here: http://www.ericlboyd.com/dnd/monsters.html

Yup, I have classic "animal+" creatures like the unicorn, griffon, peryton, etc. jotted down on my list.

One beast I found that fit very well into what I'm looking for is the Branta from Silver Marches. I'm looking for more along those lines.

Doh! How could I overlook the Realms bestiaries, I use them a lot more than I realize. (By the way, thank you for putting the work into them, Tom.)

Any creatures of the animal, magical animal, or beast category you like the most?
