| Drizztrocks05-28-07, 08:18 PM | Sometimes i wonder: do i use orcs to much? i usually use them whenever an evil lord or king is involved, so they can play the part as minions and dark soldiers. Once i tried to make a whole campaighn out of there bieng an hidden orc city, but quickly dropped it, knowing orcs are to stupid to make full civilazations. But im just afraid i use them to much, and put them in rolls innapropriate for there monster class, like an orcan wizard. i tried to stop usiong them, but i put in drow instead and there killing all my pcs!:OMG! |
| GothicDan05-28-07, 09:33 PM | If anything, Drow are too overused. They're like, 10 times rarer than Orcs, on average (though regional accounts would very - Underdark vs. above ground, for instance). |
| Lord Karsus05-28-07, 09:47 PM | -You need to use Scro in your campaign. |
| GothicDan05-28-07, 09:51 PM | I've always liked Gnolls, Wemics, and Kobolds. |
| Lord Karsus05-28-07, 10:07 PM | -Wmics really don't belong in such company. They are noble creatures, for the most part. |
| GothicDan05-28-07, 10:12 PM | I think their default alignment is CN in the MM. The Wemics that worship Nobanion (my favorite, admittedly) are not the majority, I don't think (been awhile since I've read their write-up in RoF). In one of my D&D worlds, I had a LG nation of Centaurs (Paladins with their own mounts) that was in constant conflicts with multiple roaving prides of Wemics (all Chaotic, roughly divided along C/E/N lines). There was a legendary black Wemic of monstrous size, with runes burned into his fur and bones tied in his mane, who was supposedly the divine champion of a terrible predatory god of conflict, struggle, and violence. Sort of like a more consciously aware Malar. I loved them Centaurs and Wemics. |
| Lord Karsus05-28-07, 10:18 PM | -Since you love them, then you'll agree that they don't belong with such company as Gnolls and Kobolds. -As an interesting side note, the natural enemies of the Wemics tens of thousands of years ago were Kodingobolds. |
| GothicDan05-28-07, 10:24 PM | ... Kodingobolds? Dingos and lions didn't live anywhere near each other! |
| MerrikCale05-28-07, 11:34 PM | where is the hobgoblin love? |
| GothicDan05-28-07, 11:35 PM | I do like Hobgoblins more than Orcs, actually. Merrik.. Where do you live in NJ? |
| MerrikCale05-28-07, 11:47 PM | I do like Hobgoblins more than Orcs, actually. Merrik.. Where do you live in NJ? up north in Sussex County. I know you're down in the Pine Barrens area right? |
| GothicDan05-28-07, 11:56 PM | Yep. You so far away! Technically, just outside of the Pine Barrens, off of Ft. Dix military base. In the other direction is Mcguire Airforce base. |
| Lord Karsus05-29-07, 04:13 PM | where is the hobgoblin love? -Oddly enough, I wrote 'Hobgoblins', but then erased it, and wrote 'Scro' instead. ... Kodingobolds? Dingos and lions didn't live anywhere near each other! -Good thing we're talking about Wemics and Kodingobolds, and not lions and dingos, then. |
| MarkusTay6305-29-07, 04:20 PM | Okay, I'll bite. What the hell is a Kodingobold?! :uh-huh: (Or is that some sort of anagram-thing for King Obould?) |
| Lord Karsus05-29-07, 05:04 PM | Okay, I'll bite. What the hell is a Kodingobold?! :uh-huh: (Or is that some sort of anagram-thing for King Obould?) -Presumably, they were dingo-headed cousins of kobolds. |
| MerrikCale05-29-07, 10:06 PM | -Presumably, they were dingo-headed cousins of kobolds. or kobold headed dingos |
| Lord Karsus05-30-07, 12:03 AM | or kobold headed dingos -As per their depiction, I think it's safe to say that they were dingo-headed Kobolds, and not Kobold-headed dingoes. |
