| Tugaran05-12-07, 08:08 AM | One of my friends plays a Priest of Ilmater. In 2nd Edition there was the Painbearer of Ilmater specialty priest in "Faiths & Avatars". I would like to create a PrC with 5 Levels, but I need some help and advice for die class features. Class Requirements ·Alignment: Lawful Good ·Skills: HEAL (4 ranks), KNOWLEDGE: Religion (8 ranks) ·Feats: ENDURANCE ·Spellcasting: ability to cast 3rd circle divine prayers ·Deity: Ilmater Class Features ·Hit Die: D8 ·Class Skills: Concentration, Craft, Diplomacy, Heal, Knowledge (Religion), Profession, Spellcraft ·Skill Points per Level: 2 + INT modifier Saving Throws, Attack Bonus and Spellcasting Ability: as Priest I thought on the following abilities: Greater Endurance The Painbearer of Ilmater gains a +4 bonus on all the checks and Saving Throw improved by the ENDURANCE Feat. This bonus stacks with the benefit of the ENDURANCE feat. Holy Suffering If the Painbearer takes at least 50 points of damage in a single round and survives, he is surrounded by a radiant glow signaling Ilmater´s favor. He gains a bonus on attack rolls, Saving Throws, and skill checks equal to +1 for every 10 points of damage he took in the previous round. This effect lasts for a number of rounds equal to his Painbearer Level. Brew Healing Potions The Painbearer gains the ability to brew curative and healing Potions. He gains the BREW POTION Feat. In the 2nd edition book were also the following abilities: Commune (1/tenday), Sustenance, Remove Fear,Possession by a beneficial servant of Ilmater, cast "Endurance of Ilmater" (1/day). |

That said, perhaps a feat to cover some of the minor benefits of the specialty priest, like a greater endurance feat. There are also a few Ilmater PrCs in official books, several healing focused priest that might be appropriate, and substitution levels for Ilmater paladin orders in Champions of Valor, all of which should give you some ideas on how to build stuff. |

Hope you like the additions. ;) Painbearer of Ilmater Requirements Alignment: Lawful Good Skills: Heal 4 ranks, Knowledge (Religion) 8 ranks. Feats: Augment Healing, Endurance Spells: Ability to cast 3rd level divine spells, clerics must have access to the Healing domain. Deity: Ilmater Class Skills: Concentration, Craft, Diplomacy, Heal, Knowledge (Religion), Profession, Spellcraft Skill Points Per Level: 2 + Int modifier Hit Die: d8 Lvl BAB Fort Ref Will Special Spells 1 +0 +2 +0 +2 Greater Endurance, Brew Potion +1 divine level 2 +1 +3 +0 +3 Divine Grace +1 divine level 3 +2 +3 +1 +3 Will of Ilmater +1 divine level 4 +3 +4 +1 +4 Holy Suffering +1 divine level 5 +3 +4 +1 +4 Sustenance +1 divine level Class Features: Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Painbearers of Ilmater gain no new weapon or armor proficiencies. Spellcasting: At each new level you gain additional spells as if you had gained a level in your previous divine spellcasting class, you gain no other benefits from the previous class however. Greater Enduance(Ex): At 1st level you gain a +4 sacred bonus on all checks and saves improved by the Enduance feat. As a sacred bonus this stacks with the benefit of the Endurance feat. Brew Potion: At 1st level you recieve Brew Potion as a bonus feat. As a Painbearer of Ilmater it is your responsibility to spread healing everywhere, even beyond your physical reach. Divine Grace(Su): At 2nd level you gain a bonus equal to your charisma modifier on all saving throws. Will of Ilmater(Su): Your faithful worship of the Broken God gives you the ability to avoid effects that would affect you never ending journey to rid the world of pain and suffering. At 3rd level you become immune to all fear effects and also can no longer become nauseated or sickened. Holy Suffering(Su): Starting at 4th level, whenever you take at least 50 points of damage in a single round and survive, you are surrounded by a radient glow signaling Ilmater's favor. You gain a sacred bonus on attack rolls, saving throws, and skill checks equal to +1 for every 10 points of damage you took the previous round. This effect last for a number of rounds equal to your Painbearer of Ilmater level. Sustenance(Ex): At 5th level you no longer need to eat, drink, or breathe. You still suffer hunger pains and burning lungs if you do not eat or breathe, but such sensations are to be expected and, like most pain, do not indicate a real need. You do not take nonlethal damage or suffer any ill effects from hunger, thrist, suffocation, or drowning. |

It just feels very Ilmaterish to me. The contemplative is from Complete Divine btw. |
