in a campaign i run, my girlfriend's PC recently obtained leadership and after some debate, a lesser drow cleric of 7th level was chosen as her characters' cohort. there's a 85% chance that she's going to be a priestess of sharess, but nothing is set in stone. my only issue is that there aren't any good sharess-themed PrC's in case the cohort decides to take them.

she's primarily the party's healer and buffer, and i was hoping to find a fairly reasonable PrC for a character with these party roles. the cohort is also physically frail and very much a non-combatant.

also, being the DM, i can fix the numbers a bit, and have some requirements swapped around as long as it's not too abusive (ie: no dweomerkeeper of sharess madness)

many thanks in advance!

ok, there are a few PrC's that you can look into. There isn't one to Sharess that's also a divine caster. I found some in the Complete Divine and Player's Guide to Faerun

Complete Divine- Contemplative (must be at least lvl 10 for the 13 ranks in Knowledge religion), and Divine Oracle.

Player's Guide to Faerun- Divine Disciple

That's basically it, though feel free to look online or any of the source books out there. If you feel creative, you could make one. Hope that helps.

Well, a cleric who qualifies for Divine Disciple loses very little by entering - except for turn undead, which is not quite a Sharessan thing imo, so you could point her there for a rather generic solution. For something closer to Sharess... I consider her a bit hard to define tbh, as she incorporates some rather divergent roles - sure, one's first association might be the association with Sune, revelry (amorous or otherwise) and the like: in which case, the heartwarden from F&P could work out. However, she also has a rather martial side to her, as well - check her role in the Mulhorandi pantheon, where she served Anhur and had a strong conflict with Set. Her feline portfolio may even indicate a third, hunting/stealth archetype. Of all three, the first role seems most fitting for a similar cleric, and can be done with a contemplative, divine oracle, or divine disciple. However, a PrC that gives you some bardic abilities or more social savvy might also work out. Any chance of going down Harper lane? Harper Priest (MoFaerun) and possibly the Master Harper from the web article can represent a more broad-minded priest, and with a little rewording of the abilities one does not need to have them come from a smorgasboard of deities.

Just do not, if at all possible, choose the Celebrant of Sharess PrC. While it might be an interesting idea, it is one of the crappiest, and while I apologize for the strong word it is imo completely deserved, PrCs to EVER appear, anywhere.

I believe there is a "Dancer of Sharess" in one of the Dragon magazines, though I'm not sure which one.

Also, Ed Greenwood just let out quite a few details on clerics of Sharess over at Candlekeep.

thanks for the replies all!

i realize that this character may be stereotypical, but the cohort is going to be a sensual sharessan (sp?) priestess. she's going to be CN and a total axe to the face for most of the party, but i think we'll get some good rp/hooks out of it. i think i might look into divine disciple, as i'd like to keep things as simple as possible.

I like Divine Disciple as a prestige class... especially for a cohort - as with the Imbue ability lesser healings and buffs can be spread through the group. The telepathy and extra domains can rock as well.
