| Salahdin03-26-07, 01:09 PM | Do the Prestige Classes counts as multiclass to the efect of the experiece penalty? |
| HappyPenguinOnAStick03-26-07, 01:13 PM | Nope, im pretty sure they dont. |
| Jarin03-26-07, 02:07 PM | Huh, I thought they did. The only difference being that there are prerequisites to get into the class. Let me know if I am wrong!;) |
| Alediran03-26-07, 04:18 PM | No, they do not count for the purpouse of calculating XP penalty for multiclassing. |
| Tevin Kevlak03-26-07, 04:32 PM | Huh, I thought they did. The only difference being that there are prerequisites to get into the class. Let me know if I am wrong!;) You're wrong. :D |
| Critalondel03-27-07, 01:22 AM | Huh, I thought they did. The only difference being that there are prerequisites to get into the class. Let me know if I am wrong!;) So almost everyone in all your games sucks down that XP penalty for unfavorable multi-classing, once they pick up a PrC? Since they tend to be level 5-8 or so in at least one class (in order to qualify for the PrC), and then suddenly are level 1 in a new one...wow. Sucking on xp penalties for a while. That's pretty harsh, man. :) |
| Another Gnome03-27-07, 01:32 PM | It used to be explicitly stated that prestige classes don't count for the multiclassing experience penalty, but 3.5 DMG no longer spells it out. I think it's generally accepted though, that the rule was not meant to change between editions. |
| Jarin03-27-07, 03:41 PM | Ahh ok. Things make a lot more sense now!:D |
| Book03-27-07, 06:33 PM | Guys, this rules omission has been clarified in the FAQ and in Sage Article (Dragon Magazine) from awhile back. PrC levels do not factor in to XP penalty situation. Ever. At all. |
| Another Gnome03-27-07, 06:54 PM | Ah, good. Haven't read the FAQ for some time now, didn't know it has been officially addressed. :) |
| Salahdin03-30-07, 02:58 PM | Thanks for all it was really helpfull, im new in 3.5, I come from avanced 2nd edition and this sunday ill run my first 3.5 game as DM. I only played this rules 3 sesions before =). I think everithig will be ok. :) |
| Ranger REG03-30-07, 08:58 PM | It used to be explicitly stated that prestige classes don't count for the multiclassing experience penalty, but 3.5 DMG no longer spells it out. See the (faux) leatherbound DMG v.3.5. |
