| AkumaDaimyo06-19-07, 07:13 AM | I remember seeing one that allowed the preistess to redeem evil drow. What was this PrC called and where can I find it? Is it even 3.5? |
| Borris06-19-07, 07:33 AM | I believe that's the Silverhair Knight from Dragon Magazine #315. |
| AkumaDaimyo06-19-07, 07:37 AM | Any place I might be able to look it over? I mainly want to see HOW it is that they convert evil drow to good drow. Is it against their will? That doesn't seem too Eilistraee to me. |
| The_Shaman06-19-07, 07:40 AM | You don't have to be nice to be good :P . Jokes aside, I think a lot of diplomacy checks may be involved. I think it was either silverhair knight or sin eater, and it was somewhere in Dragon iirc. |
| Zanan06-19-07, 07:46 AM | It is more like making them "less evil". All this redemption stuff might have worked with the Ilythiiri 11,000 years ago. For this to work, the drow must have fallen from grace or whatever before, but most haven't. They are just born into an "evil" society and know nothing else. And one would be hard pressed to waken an "Elven spirit" in an Underdark drow, a spirit that died some 11,000 years ago. Obviously, you may redeem a drow bountyhunter and elfkiller for his life-time deeds against his victims. That wouldn't change him to good though. |
| Lord Karsus06-19-07, 10:44 AM | It is more like making them "less evil". -Indeed. Even the Eilistraeeans, who are the 'good Drow', are quite brutal, at times. They are just born into an "evil" society and know nothing else. -Exactly. A Drow born into a 'good' society will turn out 'good'. |
| Zanan06-19-07, 11:46 AM | -Indeed. Even the Eilistraeeans, who are the 'good Drow', are quite brutal, at times. Only that the "good drow" are usually (or should be) "neutral" rather than "good", and that's fair enough. (You see, even a neutral lass can do good things from time to time ...) -Exactly. A Drow born into a 'good' society will turn out 'good'. Only that the world around him (his/her home community) still has a problem with his skin colour and all. In this respect, s/he could also be a "good" illithid, aboleth, or ogre. His/her kin's reputation is the problem. |

Like anything else. |
| The Ubbergeek06-19-07, 03:35 PM | And then, it is said in a religion called Yezidism that even the Devil Himself was saved.... And buddhism claim about as much - the Wheel of Reincarnation means everyone can have a chance. So....:) Remember also that Drow are 'humane' - and so, a drow is a free-willed individual, with his own ideas. Foolish? COndemened? Maybe. But I like that they at least try to do different - to the ultimate price,. at times... |
| Dr_Tough06-21-07, 12:40 AM | I think by "redeem" they mean "fight war against". People sometimes forget that the Eilistraee drow hate the Lolth drow as much as the Lolth drow hate them. |
| AkumaDaimyo06-21-07, 02:37 AM | No, I mean reedeem as in to make a evil drow good. That is exactly what the PrC I saw does. Not reedeem in death, not reedeem by the sword or make war against. Elistraee drow do hate Lloth and evil drow but they are also suposed to give them a chance to be brought back into the light, ie to become good alinged. |
| seibermaki06-21-07, 06:09 PM | Would it be reasonable that any Drow who were previous Chaotic Evil, would end up being Chaotic Neutral when they first convert to Eilistraee? |
| Lord Karsus06-21-07, 06:56 PM | Would it be reasonable that any Drow who were previous Chaotic Evil, would end up being Chaotic Neutral when they first convert to Eilistraee? -Yeah. When you change alignments, it's usually in steps (Evil to Neutral), not leaps (Evil to Good). |

If they don't accept, there isn't anything that says that the Eilistraeean can't lop off their head. |
| godbeepit06-22-07, 12:08 AM | If they don't accept, there isn't anything that says that the Eilistraeean can't lop off their head. Agreed, but if Eilistraeean-or-whatever drow are all dancing underneath the moon and stars and the Lolth drow aren't, how in bloody hell are the Eilistraeean-or-whatever drow supposed to even find them in the first place?:D |
