Raptorians in the Forgotten Realms [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-27-07, 11:11 PM Hello all,

One of my players bought the Races Of The Wild book and wants to make a Raptorian character.
I think the large amount of races and sub-races in the Forgotten Realms book is enough, but I'm willing to allow it if her elf dies.
I'm trying to think of a good place in the realms for her character to be from and I don't know.
What would be a good place for this race to be in the Realms?

04-28-07, 04:28 AM I've personally placed a flock of raptorians north of Waterdeep, up on the Sword Mountains. Just NPCs, but still. There are lots of places to them in Faerūn.

04-28-07, 05:55 AM It's not difficult to place them in Faerūn. You could use some of the aaracockra regions, such as that in Cormyr (don't remember its name) or the Spine of the World. As raptorans faith in based in that of 'Air elementals' pact, Akadi is the perfect deity for them.

04-28-07, 11:29 AM If you do this kind of thing, they have an Anchorome feeling - why, the birdlike Creator Race retreated there, it was said. Maybe they descend from them?

04-29-07, 10:03 PM Champions of Valor contains some advice for including the new races from the Complete series. Can't remember it off top of my head though.
