| MerrikCale09-08-07, 09:04 PM | you guys have nothing? |
| Thinblade09-08-07, 11:11 PM | I've made it available, but only to azurins, and I've declared that there are only between 10 and 20 of them on the whole planet at the same time, depending on how quickly they get themselves killed. I want to be flexible enough to allow my players to use the Incarnum stuff, but I don't want to change existing lore to make them fit. Giving it only to a tiny race does that. I have a couple of other ideas for racial backstory, but none of my players have picked up the class, so I haven't used any of it yet. |
| Dark Wizard09-08-07, 11:12 PM | Totemists seem more interesting. Somehow the alignment aspect of the Soulborn and the Incarnate fail to gain traction in my mind like the Paladin. |
| Mula09-10-07, 12:54 AM | Incarnates especially lack in good flavor, I think. I actually played a moon elf incarnate, briefly. I tied incarnum to the clergy of Angharradh; incarnates were a small sect of mystics belonging to the priesthood that focused on this little known soul magic, or "incarnum". I chose Angharradh because she is the deity of fertility and birth and thus was the closest to the concept of soul magic in the Seldarine (the party was all elven so I had to choose from them only). The incarnates (or just "mystics") paid special homage to Sehanine because of her mysticism type stuff. It was fun playing him, if only for a short while. :) |
| Thinblade09-10-07, 11:19 AM | I actually think exactly the opposite: I don't care for totemists at all and like incarnates a lot. It's one of the very few instances of me liking a mechanic more than the story associated with it. If a player of mine wants to play one we'll probably sit down and hash out a backstory that we like better than the one provided. |
